Illinois Residents Know The Dangers Of Chicago Politics -- They're Already Running The State (Into The Ground!)

It's not making news because after all, reporting on the messiah's mixed race upbringing and sterling oratory makes for so much better copy.

But someone, someday in the major media is going to wake up and take a good long look at Barack Obama's campaign and notice something very strange; it is staffed from top to bottom with Chicagoans who have mostly made their bones working for Mayor Richard Daley and the Chicago Machine.

It is not an exaggeration to say that Barack Obama's campaign is being run out of Chicago. He recently moved most of the Democratic National Committee functions to the Windy City and his campaign headquarters is there as well.

The question the press might want to ask would be is there anything being "run" in Chicago that doesn't have Mayor Daley's fingerprints all over it?

Is Barack Obama Daley's man?

Bush -- Most Under-rated President Every!

Sameh El-Shahat argues that George W Bush has been the most under-rated president... ever.
So, the hot news now is Barack Obama.

Obama this, Obama that... Naturally, it is very laudable that the United States may have chosen to look beyond the issue of race and opted for a person purely on the merit of his character. But what will they find?

The usual hot air that Washington politicians seem to have made their own. Mr Obama is no different. We’re just too politically correct to say that the only thing refreshing about him is his colour. So we say he’s “bipartisan”, or he’s a “uniter”.

Whatever happened to leadership and honesty as presidential traits? I happen to believe that the only leader in the West to have these two admirable qualities in droves is the leader of the free world: George W Bush.

Yes, we’ve all heard the Bushisms and laughed at them but do you really think somebody supposedly that thick can make it to the top of the most sophisticated political system the world has ever seen?

No, and that is because Mr Bush is far cleverer than most of his predecessors. He may not have been a Rhodes Scholar, but he has the ability to reach out to his people and read them.

Take the Iraq war for example. OK, so he got us into Iraq in the first place. But for Pete’s sake, he’s the leader of the world’s only superpower. He needs to take decisions, even if sometimes they have nasty consequences - which is far better than we do in Europe, where we enjoy dithering not as a means to an end, but as an end in itself.

Something had to be done about Iraq and our government was all for attacking it too. So let’s not blame G.W. for the war.

And when things did go wrong in Iraq, and there were calls to pull out, Mr Bush just followed his own counsel and doubled his bet with the Surge.

And he was right because Iraq is in a relatively better shape today than it ever was and Al Qa'eda is a shadow of its former self in that country.

This is a man who has the courage of his convictions.

Let’s not forget how Europe does wars.

Usually we wait and wait until the enemy starts attacking, then we let them win a bit, then we fight until we are tired, then we just call the US to come over to clean our mess.

That is what happened in WWI, WWII, and the Balkans.

Bush is just showing us what a bunch of dangerous ditherers we are and we hate him for it. Naturally.

And the Olympics. Bush said right from the beginning that he’s going to the opening ceremony because he saw the whole boycott thing as silly and counterproductive.

Compare that with Sarkozy who has changed his mind twice so far and to Gordon Brown who, well... err.

Not much leadership from Europe here, as usual, just doublespeak. Once again, it is to Bush that we look for leadership.

Bush may not have the slickness of his predecessor, but he is a man you can trust and who prefers to tell it like it is.

This is refreshing, and very scary for us who are used to our politicians always talking grandly about principles and hiding behind political mumbo-speak.

The fact is you guys hate Mr Bush because he is not a hypocrite and you are used to hypocrites as your leaders. We hate what we don’t understand.

Yes, yes, all you bleeding heart liberals are cringing out there. I can just hear you. But the fact is, Mr Bush has had to take some very tough decisions and the world needs people who can not only talk but also act tough and admit mistakes.

Of course you think Mr Obama is going to make a difference, but as I write this, he’s already giving all the signs of somebody who will say anything to get into power only to act in exactly the same way as the Washington clique he aims to replace!

Hating George W. Bush is not only dull and unoriginal, but it shows a complete lack of understanding of the world in which we live in.

You want liberty but you don’t want to defend it... right.

And for those of you who still don’t buy into what I’m saying, look at the Middle East. Bush single-handedly managed to unite the Arabs in their hate for him.

Given how difficult uniting the Arabs is, it takes a special man with special skills to achieve this. He is just the kind of man to bring about peace in that region!

This is an how history will be written, an indictment of the World and Praise for a hero.

Always Bet On America -- Unless The Democrats Get Their Way That Is

Last year, when Democrats in Congress tried to lock in a timetable for a troop withdrawal from Iraq, their legislation was based on the notion that we'd already lost an unwinnable war. Now Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki proposes a timetable for a U.S. withdrawal, evidently for exactly the opposite reason: He thinks we've won.

On More Nation Free -- Obama Would Have Let Suffer

Gateway Pundit has the new RNC ad highlighting Obama's flip flops.

This is their great introduction:

He was against the surge-- He said it wouldn't work-- He said more troops would not make a difference.

Barack Obama was wrong.

The surge did work- We are winning in Iraq.

Rich Pays More Of The Taxes Today Then Ever -- Obama Wants More -- Social Security Taxes Next Cash Cow For Redistribution!

New data from the IRS will be out in a few weeks on who pays how much in taxes. My contacts at the Treasury Department tell me that for the first time in decades, and perhaps ever, the richest 1% of tax filers will have paid more than 40% of the income tax burden. The top 50% will account for 97% of all federal income taxes, while the bottom 50% will have paid just 3%.

But Barack Obama has decided the rich still don't pay enough. He would redistribute the tax burden even more heavily on small business owners and the entrepreneurial class (two-thirds of the tax filers in the highest income tax bracket are small-business owners.) The nonpartisan Tax Foundation's Scott Hodge has just crunched the numbers on the Obama plan and concludes that "more than $131 billion would be redistributed from the top 1 percent of taxpayers to all other taxpayers."

Sounds fair, no? Only 1.13 million taxpayers, out of some 128 million, would end up paying higher taxes, according to the Obama camp.

Ah The Good Old Days When Congress Approval Was In Double Digit Range!

The percentage of voters who give Congress good or excellent ratings has fallen to single digits for the first time in Rasmussen Reports tracking history. This month, just 9% say Congress is doing a good or excellent job. Most voters (52%) say Congress is doing a poor job, which ties the record high in that dubious category.

Class Warfare -- Attacking Those Who Make Work

To the surprise of absolutely nobody, Barack Obama launched several attacks on achievement yesterday, slamming John McCain's tax proposals. Obama absolutely cannot stand the idea of successful people being allowed to keep more of the money they earn. After all, as Obama would tell you, those people don't actually need that money, so it is perfectly OK for the government to seize that excess cash and use it for various vote-buying schemes.

Obama likes to say that nobody earning less than $250,000 a year would have their taxes increased under his plan. Well, isn't that special. I know that many of you really don't give a damn about those wicked people earning more than $250,000 a year. They're rich, to hell with them. Take their money and spend it on you, right? After all, they were just lucky, or they got that money by relying on their crooked lawyers and cheating ordinary working American. Oh, I can hear the moans in the Democrat coffee klatches now.

How about a dose of reality? And trust me, reality isn't friendly to either The Messiah* or his supporters.
Unless you work for a very large corporation (or the government), and that would cover about 20 percent of you, and if you do, in fact, work ... then you probably work for one of these evil rich people. Think about it ... do you think that someone who runs a business with less than $250,000 in income is going to be out there hiring people?

Obama -- American Are Hicks That Can't Speak French And Stuff -- Seriously, Is Insulting Voters A Winning Strategy?

You know, I don't understand when people are going around worrying about, "We need to have English- only." They want to pass a law, "We want English-only."

Now, I agree that immigrants should learn English. I agree with that. But understand this. Instead of worrying about whether immigrants can learn English -- they'll learn English -- you need to make sure your child can speak Spanish. You should be thinking about, how can your child become bilingual? We should have every child speaking more than one language.

You know, it's embarrassing when Europeans come over here, they all speak English, they speak French, they speak German. And then we go over to Europe, and all we can say [is], "Merci beaucoup." Right?

Next Mister Arrogant will say guns and religion are the reason ... never mind.

By the way, English as a national language is like a 80 or 90% (want it) issue in America, according to Newt Gingrich.

‘Drive small cars and wait for the wind,’ -- Brave Democrats Long Awaited Energy Plan

Democrats in Congress promised to make energy policy a high priority when they returned after the Independence Day break.  Instead, they have quietly scrubbed the schedule of any votes on their energy bill, afraid Republicans will make them vote on increased domestic oil production and force them to choose between popular sentiment for drilling and their environmentalist allies.  Their strategy?  Well, the Hill chooses a good quote:
“Right now, our strategy on gas prices is ‘Drive small cars and wait for the wind,’ ” said a Democratic aide.

Soros/Move on/Think Progress now sending librarians to harass John McCain.

John McCain says he will balance the budget in his term, Obama makes no pretenses of even trying!  Even the LA Times says he can't afford the total of his programs.

Very telling video:  Banned!  Drew Carey covers the trend of banning everything imaginable!

"IRAQ WANTS A WITHDRAWAL TIMETABLE? They're talking 2011. Tell 'em "sure." There's probably a fair-sized haggling component here, but it doesn't matter: If they want us to leave, we should say "no problem." Saddam's gone, the insurgency's back is broken, and while big U.S. bases in the area might be a stabilizing force in the region, they might not. Leaving because the elected Iraqi government asks us to is winning, not turning tail and ensuring defeat, which is what we would have done had we listened to Obama, the Iraq Study Group, et al. a couple of years ago."

"Hundreds of men and women, many of them armed, line up in a marble hall inside one of Saddam Hussein's former palaces, waiting patiently for more than half an hour for their hero to turn up...The object of so much adulation is General David Petraeus, the 55-year-old commander of US and allied forces in Iraq."

Obama wants to speak July 24,th at the Brandenberg Gate in Berlin but Germans fear it would be seen as an endorsement of a presidential candidate!  It is quite a ploy after all JFK and Reagan both used the Gate as a places of change.

ACORN is again suspected of voter fraud interestingly Obama has closer ties then the media has let us know about.

British sources say the murder of former Russian agent Alexander Litvinenko was carried out with the backing of the Russian state.

Despite the bad news in the US both GM and Ford are doing quite well in China.

The situation is pathetic. No commentator seems to remember Clinton's veto of ANWR drilling. No commentator seems to remember the 2001 National Energy Policy proposal that had the nerve to suggest we start drilling for more oil in the United States. No commentator seems to know that oil exploration is already subject to "use it or lose it" provisions -- and that petroleum exploration typically goes forward when companies feel they'll make a profit, and doesn't when they don't.

You might not know this but Obama has a forum type group blog that has been filled, cleansed, and is now filling again with wacko supporters including antisemites.  What kind of an administration lets the loons loss with the keys?

Cheney reigned in the global warming nuts in the government driving the global warming nuts crazy!

San Bernardino county is rather pissed at San Francisco for their policy of shipping their illegal alien criminals out to the county and are suing to recoup the costs they have suffered as a result.

Will Obama's voting record hamper any moves he makes to move to the center?

Money finds viable energy plans -- T Bone Pickens has an energy plan that doesn't include oil!

California is burning because of typical shift in climate systems (that last change in 1977) and not global warming as some have tried to say.  How do today's fires compare? “The scientists estimated that an average 4.4 million acres burned annually in California before 1800, compared with an average 250,000 acres a year in the last five decades, 1950 through 2000.”

Did Obama flip on his pledge not to run negative ads? Considering the facts here fall short in the attack it sure looks like it -- new politician my ...

Are oil prices at the peak of a bubble -- let's hope so!

Old reflects McCain, Change reflects Obama -- but there is more in the details.  They both are positive negative neutral with the rest looking like this, ""military service" (9%), "record, qualifications" (8%), "strength" (7%), "Iraq, terrorism" (6%), "honest" (5%), "moral/good" (4%). Obama, on the other hand, was described by respondents as "lack of experience" (13%), "dishonest" (9%), "liberal" (6%), "young" (6%), "not likable" (5%), "Muslim" (3%)."

Chicago has some of the most restrictive gun laws in the country. Illinois state is one of 2 that has no concealed carry laws and is often run like an smaller ward of the city, what ever Daley wants Dailey gets and that means tight gun laws. Thank goodness local governments like the Winnebago County are looking into the possibility of having county wide concealed carry. DKK
