Your gonna hear this a lot between now and election day so here, in his own words, is John McCain correcting the record on his understanding of economics:
Reporter -- You have said your not exactly an expert when it comes to the economy...
McCain -- No I have not! Actually I said I am stronger on national security because of all the time I have spent in the military. I'm very strong on the economy, I understand it, I'm a lot more experienced then my opponent.
